Oh What a Wonderful World....

What a wonderful weekend!

It all started Friday night when I headed out to Brandi's house for a moms night. We met up after the kiddos went to bed. Brandi's husband, Doug, had taken their oldest to Gramma's house to give Brandi a break. She then invited me and some other mommy friends over. It was nice and relaxing to enjoy some beverages while gathered around the fire pit. Laughing about family and life and just generally swapping stories. It was awesome to get so relaxed. They were a great group of women. The one funny thing about the night was that when we went to start up the fire pit, we all kind of looked at each other hoping that one of us felt capable of getting it up and going. The general response was "Oh that's (insert husband's name here) job at our house. I'm not sure what the best way is....I was never a Girl Scout" Even though we scoff at the idea of gender roles and we talk about how equal it is/should be, it's kinda different when rubber hits the road....

Saturday, we were supposed to meet friends at the zoo, but naptime didn't allow. So we headed to the Clintonville Farmers Market. Dan, Maggie and I just walked around and had a relaxed afternoon. Then later, we discovered Weiland's Gourmet Market. AWESOME PLACE!! We decided it was so cool that we needed to get our dinner from there and share it with friends. We called Mitch and Becki and asked them to come over and hang out, toss some Cornhole in the backyard, and have dinner with us. We met them at the market and picked up 2 kinds of chicken sausage (Brats and Italian Sausage), pea salad, potato salad, coconut cream pie, Pattycake Vegan Bakery Cookies (x2) and, of course, a 12 pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade. YUMMY. As the nightfall came, Dan brought out the fire pit and built a great fire. We sat around and talked. It was a great night.
On came Sunday...we met up with Nate, Kelly, and Grayson at Max and Erma's. What a cute kiddo! Check out the pictures from our outing. It was great catching up with them. They have another on the way and hopefully we will meet her before she's starting kindergarten!! :)

Then Sunday night we headed over to Brent and Mandy's house to hang out with them and our niece and nephew. They are getting so big! Maren is 4 and Ben is almost 2. It's amazing how much they seem to grow between each visit. Guess what we did there? We sat around the fire pit making s'mores and then followed that with some cornhole. Brad and Tracie came over and joined in for awhile. Another wonderful evening!

Tonight Dan and I are sitting in the living room, both buried behind computers. He's working on a project for his dad and obviously I am writing this. I have to get something posted on eBay and remove some fabrics that have sold out when I am done here. After that....I am off to bed. It's only 8:15 but for such a relaxing weekend....I AM POOPED!!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

  1. Thanks again for having us over Saturday evening! We had a great time! We are up for cornhole and dinner on the grill anytime! Even if it means raiding my freezer after a Costco run!
